Bredonborough.

Rising at 07.00. Snow in the yard, but not in the Market Square. An hour later, the position had changed I…

A personal meeting scheduled for 10.30, with a Crafty travelling from Yorkshire, has been re-scheduled. A call found them in a service station near Tamworth, wondering whether to continue on. We agreed: they would probably get here but not be able to leave.

A call from the Minx in Canterbury with interesting future-news: one of her long-planned ventures is moving into place. And the show yesterday was superb, Wicked Queenie W. reports, with other-panto persons attending, also the producers of Hormonal Housewives.

Here, in the Home Study with morning reading…

Book Club:: Posted by KentSmith on January 14, 2013
I find myself actually frustrated at times to see the frequent photos of Robert Fripps’ hand holding a book open to a page in his current reading without my being able to figure out.... What’s he reading now!?!...

.006 string:: Posted by garbonzo on January 15, 2013
Noticed photo of .006 string on the RF on-line diary.  What is the application and/or advantage of using a string gauge of such gossamer dimension?  I play often in the NST using the .007 gauge (O4+) strings and have little difficulty in getting them up to and maintaining the A4 pitch.  Am curious to know how Mr. Fripp employs this gauge of string...perhaps on his electric guitars?

My report is tentative as this is early days with the gossamer string. The manufacturer intends that string-bending, even to a minor third, is possible. I hesitate going that far.

14.26 From a journalist…

if, in an aggressive situation, someone faces you slightly at an angle with the left ear forward, they're hoping for a solution?

From the reply…

village halls, dance venues & the pubs of dorset in the middle '60s were not places where one hesitated overmuch to consider the subtleties of problem solving! remind me to tell you a story of mel bush, the promoter, one i admired greatly. the last time i picked someone up and banged them against a wall was january 1980, in NYC. that's another story…

today:
turn a seeming disadvantage to your advantage.
the greater the seeming disadvantage, the greater the possible advantage.

if it weren't for mr sg alder's dishonesty, the collapse of EG and Endless Grief, DGM and Panegyric wouldn’t be about today, neither would any of the 40th. Anniversary KC Editions.

15.36 To the same journalist, interested in writing up the UMG debacle…

now, over 5 years later, the three principals of two small firms (DGM & Panegyric) have put 100s of hours into dealing with the well-funded evasions of the world's largest music company. what is the value of that in lost creative projects, and the monetary cost in terms of lost dealing with professionalisms? + legal fees?

An evening computing ahead.

21.57 A call from the Sistery Person, who is coming to England for Uncle Bill’s funeral on Friday, to discuss plans for Uncle’s Celebration.
